My Memories Giveaway!

Hello guys,

Well I'm having a horrifically busy time at uni atm, there are so many deadlines looming and piles of work that I can't seem to get through no matter how long I spend in the library - to be honest, think I might set up home there!

Anyway, my week brightened up after the lovely Liz from My Memories contacted me and asked me to review their software. My Memories is a pretty well know digital scrapbooking programme that allows you to build album-style books which you can personalise with your own graphics, text and images as a present for friends and rellys or even as a way of collating photos online in a fun way.

Now, I was pretty sceptical about this software, I'm not a big scrapbook person (I'm too messy!) and with the success of sites like Facebook, who needs to bother with digital scrapbook software? Well, after one night playing around with the programme I was converted.

This software is so cool to use, it has loads of different graphics, clip art images, text styles and loads of other fun bits! After a couple of days I'd pretty much mastered a scrapbook, using templates provided by My Memories and challenged myself by making my own little template. Just to warn you, this first attempt is pretty basic - I was aiming for a main theme page for a scrapbook and came up with this 'congratulations' style page!

I also found the programme is really handy when designing bits for blogs - my new blog picture (top right of this page!) was designed using graphics from My Memories - it's so handy as I'm really bad with coding and find Paint Shop Pro really hard to use! This took me about ten mins, but it looks so effective. What's more, you can always purchase more advanced graphics to add to your programme for that extra special scrapbook or image!

100 Follower Giveaway!

So my darlings, you've done it, you've helped me reach 100 followers! I can't believe that since starting my blog this year I've had so many page views and so much support from you lovely lot!

I know my little blog isn't perfect yet and doesn't match the quality of so many other bloggers out there, so any advice would be much appreciated!

Anyway, that's the end of the emotional speech (BAFTA-worthy I think) and onto the important stuff; the giveaway.

My last attempt at this was really successful so hopefully this will attract just as many of you to have a go!

The prize I've chosen this time is a little different and comes straight from Nicky Oliver, one of Manchester's top celebrity hairdressers. Nicky has cut my hair for a few years now - I'm hopeless with hairdressers and can never give them any idea of what I really want. First time I visited his salon, Nicky sat me down and made my hair look fab without the 20 questions you normally get when you pop for a quick chop.

Last time I was over in Manchester I mentioned my blog to Nicky and he was kind enough to donate some of his own daily shampoo and conditioner for this giveaway - two great products which I use regularly!

Nicky Oliver, based in Manchester's Northern Quarter, isn't your average hairdresser. He's won Hairdresser of the year, Styling team of the year and Best Salon of the year among other awards. 50 Follower Giveaway!

As a thank you to all my lovely new followers who've helped me reach the big 5-0 (as a new blogger, 50 people who actually want to read my little ramblings and look at my outfit posts is a really big achievement!)

So I thought I'd find something pretty special as a prize for this giveaway and as luck would have it, I stumbled across this little gem in a vintage shop. This is a vintage mint condition Suzy Smith handbag which, for those of you who are bag-aholics like me, will know is quite a posh make!

The lovely little bag has a mock tortoise-shell and gold clasp, along with an inside pocket, a handle and longer strap too, so it can be worn across the body as well as being carried in your paws.

I'm quite sad to part with it really, but as it's a new find (I've not used it!) I thought it was a lovely little gift for a lucky follower.
